Rhein-Ruhr 2025: Marat Mavlonov Adds Another Silver to Uzbekistan’s Medal Tally

Uzbekistan’s delegation has secured its ninth medal at the Summer Universiade, thanks to a strong performance by taekwondo athlete Marat Mavlonov in the +87 kg weight category.

Mavlonov advanced to the final without a single loss, showcasing skill and determination throughout the tournament. In the decisive bout, however, he was narrowly defeated by Sanghyeon Kang of South Korea, earning a silver medal for his efforts.

Following this result, Uzbekistan’s current tally at the Universiade stands at 2 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
