Uzbekistan’s Murodjon Akhmadaliev scores KO in pro debut
Uzbekistan’s Murodjon Akhmadaliev finished off his opponent early to win their pro debuts Saturday at Kings Theatre.
Akhmadaliev, who earned bantamweight bronze at the Olympic Games, had to fight a bit longer rather than his compatriot Shakhram Giyasov earned a 15-second knockout victory, pounding David Paz (4-5-1) in the corner before he went down for the count on a delayed reaction to a body shot. The official time was 1:08.
The 23-year-old Akhmadaliev was a bronze medalist at the 2016 Olympics competing as a bantamweight. He was also a Gold Medalist at the 2017 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships and a Silver Medalist at the 2015 World Amateur Championships and 2015 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships.
