The "President's Cup" is currently underway in Tashkent. This competition, held for the third time, has a prize fund of 75,000 USD.

The tournament is played in two groups. In Group "A," players with a rating of 2250 or higher participate, while in Group "B," players with a rating of 2249 or lower compete.
Each game lasts 90 minutes, with an additional 30 seconds added per move.

Yesterday, the third round matches took place. In this round, Javohir Sindarov defeated Mikhail Nikitenko. Additionally, two of our top players, Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Muhiddin Madaminov, faced off, with Abdusattorov emerging victorious. Furthermore, Nodirbek Yakubboev drew with the Indian player Chandra Prasad.

Here are the results of the third round:

It should be noted that after the third round, the top three positions in the tournament table are currently held by Uzbek players. In an unexpected development, Ortiq Nigmatov, with a rating of 2447, is in the lead. Currently, five players share the same 3 points.

Today, the fourth round matches will continue. In this round, Ortiq Nigmatov, who holds the 1st position, and Javohir Sindarov, in 3rd place, will compete against each other.

Additionally, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, in 2nd place, will face Murali Kartikeyan, who is in 4th place. It is highly likely that the outcomes of these games will clarify the favorites for the higher positions in the tournament standings.
