Rhein-Ruhr 2025: Najmiddin Qosimkhojiyev Becomes Two-Time Universiade Medalist

 Uzbekistan’s national team continues to shine at the Summer Universiade 2025 in Germany. The latest success comes from taekwondo fighter Najmiddin Qosimkhojiyev, who clinched a bronze medal in the under 74 kg category.

The Uzbek athlete advanced confidently to the semifinals, but narrowly lost to Brazil’s Vinicius Matos at that stage. Despite the defeat, Qosimkhojiyev once again stood on the Universiade podium — repeating his achievement from Chengdu 2023, where he also earned a bronze.

 This marks his second career medal at the Universiade, cementing his reputation as one of the country’s most consistent performers on the student-athlete stage.
